Residential Mental Health Treatment Center in Canterbury, NH
New Freedom Academy is a 20-bed Residential treatment facility designed to treat both men and women 18+ years old struggling with severe mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, bipolar disorders and/or co-occurring severe mental health and substance use disorders.
Located in Canterbury, NH, New Freedom Academy provides residents with a medically monitored and safe environment. Residents are involved in an innovative daily program of group and individual therapy, social activities and daily tasks geared towards the enhancement of social and practical living skills for 30 – 90 days.
All clinical services provided are driven by an individual master treatment plan written by licensed and/or credentialed clinicians with the resident’s input, participation, and consent. New Freedom Academy offers individual counseling, group counseling, psychiatric, medical, nursing services, and recovery skills workshops delivered in didactic presentations.

NFA Behavioral Health, another Granite Recovery Centers facility, has two locations. One, located in the beautiful countryside of Canterbury, New Hampshire, is a 20-bed facility that allows for a more intimate setting compared to large rehab centers. NFA Behavioral Health also offers holistic therapy, workshops and education programs.
Clinical therapies like dialectical behavior therapy and cognitive behavior therapy are used to help patients overcome addiction. You’ll be given nutritious, chef-prepared meals and gender-separate living accommodations. With a low staff-to-client ratio and a peaceful setting, NFA Behavioral Health is more like a home than a medical facility.
