Sesselja Helgason is the case management Supervisor at NFA Salem. She started her career with GRC at Green Mountain Treatment Center in 2017 after being in 12 step recovery herself, wanting to make a difference helping others achieve sobriety. Sesselja started as a recovery support specialist and was promoted to lead recovery support specialist. She enjoyed working on the front lines in a fast-paced and rewarding environment while building positive relationships with the clients.

In 2021, she transferred to New Freedom Academy in Salem NH as a clinical case manager after receiving her bachelor’s degree in social and behavioral sciences from the University of Southern Maine. She also holds a certified alcohol and drug counselor license. Sesselja was promoted to case management supervisor last year. She enjoys overseeing the case management team who she describes as the “best in the business”.

In her free time Sesselja enjoys spending time at the beach or lake with her 2 year old son, 3-month-old daughter and her fiancé. She celebrated 9 years of continuous sobriety in May of 2024.
