The Freedom House is a place for men in recovery to continue working on their program after rehab. The Freedom House is a sober living facility that sleeps up to 17 people. Located in peaceful Effingham, NH, The Freedom House sober living home is a great way to transition back to your life after being in an intensive rehab program.
What is Sober Living?
A sober living home acts as an intermediary step between rehab and entirely going back to your old life. Compared to the length of your use and your life, rehab was pretty short. Learning new habits and learning to use the tools that you gathered form rehab can take time and a sober living home offers people a place where they can gain some amount of responsibility and freedom while learning to stay sober over the long run. It’s important to note that the path to recovery is not always easy. You should not expect to have an easy time making the transition. Making use of the resources available to you like sober living homes and other types of support will help you along the way while helping to ensure that you can remain sober and live the life that you have been dreaming of. At Freedom House, you are usually expected to work, go to school, or volunteer. Otherwise, you need to engage in activities outside of your substance abuse program. This will help to give you a sense of independence, freedom, and responsibility that you do not get in rehab. In sober living, you will:- Have more freedom
- Have more responsibilities
- Be more independent
- Have time to adjust to sober life
- Follow the program rules
